Academy Head Coach
Jeramy Sebia
Jeremy Sabia is inspired to become a coach by his passion for sharing knowledge and experience with players in the game. He believes in the mantra, "Always work harder than the next guy to get to the top."
Throughout his coaching career, he has worked with various teams, including Bethelsdorp Primary School, PE Harlequins as the forward coach, SAPS Police Men's team, Gelvandale Rugby Team, and the Nelson Mandela Bay 7s team. His coaching experience spans youth teams from under-9 to under-21, as well as senior men's rugby teams.
Jeremy has also contributed to notable tournaments, coaching at the U/13 Craven Week for Eastern Province, U/19 and U/20 Eastern Province teams, the U/19 SA team, and several amateur teams including EP Amateurs, Lions Amateurs, African Leopards, and PE Harlequins.
His ultimate goal is to see young players achieve significant rugby accomplishments and make their way into the professional arena.

Assistant Coach
Lyle Walters
Lyle Walters is a dedicated coach inspired by a commitment to share knowledge and give back to the community, believing that keeping insights to oneself is selfish. His coaching philosophy prioritizes discipline for every player while fostering strong, father-son-like relationships within the team.
With over ten years of coaching experience, Lyle has worked with several clubs, including St. Marks RFC, PE Harlequins, and PE SAPS, and he currently coaches at SAPS, engaging players of all age groups.
In his playing career, Lyle competed in Super League Rugby for PE SAPS and PE Harlequins, achieving notable milestones such as qualifying for the Gold Cup in 2016 and 2017 and earning EP Merit honors in 2015 and 2016.
His vision for the academy centers on developing players to reach higher levels of competition while also keeping youth engaged in sports, steering them away from negative influences. He firmly believes that "a child in sport is a child out of court."

Strength and conditioning coach
Dylan van der Westhuizen
Dylan is inspired to become a coach by his desire to share the lessons and experiences he has gained, hoping to assist others in their own journeys. He believes that a correct mindset and a willingness to learn are crucial for success both inside and outside the rugby environment. While coaching rugby is a new experience for him, Dylan brings a background in group fitness and training, which has helped him appreciate group dynamics. He recognizes the challenges of coaching different age groups, personalities, and skill levels, and aims to adapt his approach accordingly. Currently, Dylan is coaching at Gelvandale Rugby Academy, which is his first foray into the rugby world. He prefers working with junior levels, specifically ages 13 to 16.
Although he does not have any playing experience, he values understanding diverse perspectives and approaches within the sport. While he jokes about not having achieved high rugby accolades, his focus is on fostering development within the academy.
Dylan’s vision is to continue the growth of the academy, encouraging players to seize opportunities and eventually give back to their communities. He aims to build resilient young individuals equipped to face challenges and strive to become the best versions of themselves.
